A Pool, a Beach, and Five Beds...For $170,000

Saturday, February 12, 2011

Dear Reader,

I'm heading to Ecuador's south Pacific coast as you read this, scouting out new real estate opportunities in this under-priced, under the radar, location. I'll meet up with local contact Amy Pinoargote while I'm in Salinas, the most developed resort town on this stretch of coast. Of course, I'll bring you the lowdown on the latest deals I find...but to whet your appetite, here's a bargain property that Amy sent me this week.

It's a five-bed ocean-view town home...in an upscale oceanfront complex...for $170,000.

The three-story town home is a fifteen minute drive from Salinas. Salinas is a resort city with a stack of conveniences...hospitals, clinics, supermarkets, and malls. Better yet, it offers great amenities...two yacht clubs, marinas, cafes and restaurants, tennis courts and a golf course.

Daytime, families relax on the beach...swimming, and sunbathing...while on the water, boats rock gently beside the yacht club...jet skis skim the surf...and prize-sized marlin lure sport fishermen.

At night, the boardwalk buzzes to the best nightlife along this coast, with live music, all-night dancing spots, and chill-cool nightclubs.

Outside Salinas, the pace calms down. The coastline becomes a series of crescent beaches, tiny coves, and endless waves rippling and breaking on the soft sandy shoreline. You can enjoy fresh-grilled fish and a cool beer in the shade of a rustic palapa, right on the sand. It's definitely goodbye to the business suit, the meetings diary and the stress of daily life here. This place's relaxed lifestyle will soothe you, seduce you, and win you over...

This home is in a private complex, with 24-hour security and parking. The first two floors are living space. The entire top floor has a suite which opens directly onto a rooftop terrace with amazing ocean views. Including the terrace, the home has 317 square meters (3410 square feet) of living space. The interior is modern and stylish, with an open-plan kitchen, and volcanic rock features in some rooms, including the living room.

It gets better. You get additional outside space, thanks to a shared pool and patio--which you only share with three neighbors. And the complex has a private entrance to a quiet, sandy beach.

And you get all of this for $170,000. See it here for yourself in this short video:
